Discover nature

Come get lost with us, we know the way! Are you ready for new experiences? We know the loveliest spots and have trail routes ready for you.

The forests and heathlands around Epe are the habitat of wild boars, deer, roe deer, mouflons, badgers, foxes, squirrels and kingfishers, who often show themselves. Epe offers a 100% guarantee of being able to spot wildlife. We have plenty of information to give out at the hotel, or perhaps a visit to the tourist office in Epe is also a good idea.

Head out with one of our guides, visit a Hanseatic city or explore the Royal Veluwe.

Experience nature with a guide

Discover more. Are you ready for new experiences?

Our guides are happy to go explore with you on foot, by bicycle or mountain bike. Jan Niebeek will show you how the wildlife lives in the Veluwe; it's best to go by bike to do that. André Donker will take you out by bike or on foot and tell you all about the Veluwe and its wildlife. On foot, Leida van den Brink can tell you all about the animals we share the Veluwe with. While Piet Post will tell you all about our birds and bees during a walk on the Tongeren Estate. After a brief introduction to the formation and geology of the area, you will set off to explore it all on a bike ride with Mariette Elshoud. Elmie Zandbergen will guide you on a hike and give you fresh insights as a hiking coach. Mattheus is a sporty nature guide who will show you the most beautiful places by mountain bike.

Tell us what you want and we will reserve a guide exclusively for your group or let you know how you can join an organised activity.

Every first Friday of the month at 8 pm in the Hotel Lounge, Jan Huttinga tells fairytale-like stories about his experiences as a gamekeeper at Het Loo Crown Domain.

Mighty charming Hanseatic towns in the Veluwe

When Amsterdam and Rotterdam were still but mere villages, the cities of the Hanseatic League were already powerful trading centres. Enjoying a favourable location along the Zuiderzee and the river IJssel, the Veluwe towns of Harderwijk, Elburg and Hattem flourished. Other IJssel cities such as Zwolle and Deventer are worth a visit as well. Following the Hanseatic cycling routes, you can cycle from one to the other, partly along the old trade routes.
